ST. TERESA'S SPRING AWARDS
Académie Lafayette graduates received various academic honors at the Spring 2009 awards ceremony. A few highlights include:
Eva C. - Columbia University Book Award
Erika M., Melissa L., and Katie P. all ranked in the Top 10 on the National French Exam and received a Certificat of Honor for their high scores. Erika M. also received a medal for top performance in Level III French (as a freshman)
Eva C. - divisional award for French V
Rowan O. - divisional award for Spanish I and Physical Science
SUCCESS AT SION
Annie, a freshman at Notre Dame de Sion, was Top Scholar (highest grade average in her class of 110 students ) for the first semester of her freshman year at Sion.
Annie has also received a scholarship from Walnut Hill, a fine arts preparatory high school, to attend a 5-week summer ballet program in Natick, MA, in July and August.
ROCKHURST UPDATE
Zac made the Fall 2008 honor roll as a freshman at Rockhurst High School. As a member of the Speech & Debate Team, he won first place in Student Congress at the Park Hill South Tournament and third place at the Blue Springs South Tournament. Zac and his debate partner also reached the quarter-finals of the NFL District Tournament while competing at the varsity level in public forum debate.
LINCOLN PREP ACADEMY
As a Freshman, Teylor is ranked 1st Sergeant in ROTC, which is the highest ranking for a freshman in the history of Lincoln College Prep Academy. Teylor made the honor roll for the 1st semester, with a GPA OF 3.7. She is currently representing her school on the Lincoln Tigers JV Soccer Team.
Lilly, a sophmore and 2007 Academie Lafayette graduate, was inducted into the National Honor Society. She has also, through dual credit, already completed a year of college French. In addtiion to her academic honors, Lilly has lettered for varsity soccer both her freshman and sophomore years.
BISHOP MEIGE
Emma, a sophomore at Meige, won the GPA 4.2 or above award and the French Department award for Outstanding Student.
LE GRAND CONCOURS RESULTS 2009
Annie (Class of 2008) ranked 2nd on this National French Test. 16,135 students took this test and only 25 ranked this high! Congratulations Annie!
Erika (Class of 2008) ranked 7th nationally.
