Rebekah moved to France with her family at the age of six. She experienced immersion first hand as her parents placed her in French school immediately. She spent the next thirteen years in France, returning to the States about every three years for the summer. She was fortunate to be able to travel to many different European countries during this time. After graduating from high school she attended college in Chicago, studying cultural anthropology. During college, she continued traveling, going to Mali in West Africa and working with Cambodian refugees for two years. After graduation she worked in social work for several years before getting certified to teach. She is now pursuing her Masters in education.
