Parent Association

studentWhat is the Parents' Association?
As a parent of a child at Académie Lafayette, you are considered a part of the Parent Association (PA). Each spring, parents run for leadership positions. Our PA has the following officers: President (may be held by two people), Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. While not an officer, another important job is Volunteer Coordinator.

Is there a cost to join?
No, it is free! Babysitting is provided during the meetings by supervised 8th graders at no charge. Simply attend! (see PA calendar)

What does the PA do?
We support students and parents by: arranging informative meetings to enrich your parenting knowledge; promoting parent involvement through volunteer opportunities; organizing social events to foster family fellowship; encouaging parent peer-group communication and community building through room parent infrastructure.

We also support teachers by: providing appreciation meals and snacks, assist with school programs such as Book in the Bag, or volunteer to help in the lunchroom and the library. Room Parents provide additional support for teachers by planning classroom parties, organizing snack schedules and grade-specific fundraising projects.

Our fundraising efforts provide funds for enrichment opportunities at the school and for expenses not normally covered by the school’s budget.
